Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the Blessing of the Waters and the immersion of the Holy Cross at the Dexamenis Reservoir in Kolonaki, marking the celebration of Epiphany.
Earlier, the Prime Minister attended the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite in Athens.
In his statements immediately following the immersion of the Holy Cross, the Prime Minister referred to the passing of former Prime Minister Kostas Simitis, as well as the health battle being fought at Evangelismos Hospital by the Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios, following the deterioration of his condition.
Mr. Mitsotakis, among other things, wished everyone a Happy New Year and emphasized that our country is currently a beacon of stability in an unstable world, charting a course of progress in a stagnant environment. “Let us preserve this environment,” the Prime Minister highlighted, among other remarks.

The President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, is in Kilkis for the religious ceremonies of the Blessing of the Waters.
Nikos Androulakis is in Istanbul, where he is participating in the patriarchal and synodal Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint George, presided over by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Following this, he will attend the immersion of the Holy Cross in the Golden Horn.
Sokratis Famellos, leader of SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance, attended the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Piraeus. Immediately afterward, he attended the ceremony of the immersion of the Cross at the dock opposite the Church of Saint Spyridon.
