The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken appeared optimistic today that the ceasefire agreed between Israel and Hamas will go into effect on Sunday as planned, despite last-minute problems.

“It’s not surprising that in a process, in a negotiation that has been so difficult, you can have outstanding issues. We are resolving this outstanding issue as we speak,” he added.
