The National Weather Service predicts predominantly clear skies across Greece on Saturday, with temperatures on the rise.

Saturday, January 18

General Conditions:
Morning hours may see scattered clouds over the eastern mainland and Crete. Visibility in mainland areas will be locally limited during morning and evening hours.

Winds:

  • Western regions: East-southeast winds at 4 to 6 Beaufort, locally reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort in the Ionian Sea, with gradual weakening after midday.
  • Eastern regions: North-northeast winds at 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature:

  • Macedonia and Thrace: Maximum temperatures of 13°C, with morning lows around -2°C.
  • Southern mainland and islands: 15°C to 17°C.
  • Dodecanese and southern Crete: Up to 18°C to 19°C.
  • Frost expected in northern mainland areas during early morning and evening hours.

  • Weather: Clear skies.
  • Winds: Northern winds at 4 to 6 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 5°C to 16°C.

Thessaloniki:

Macedonia and Thrace:

Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, and Western Peloponnese:

Cyclades and Crete:

  • Weather: Generally clear with local clouds over Crete.
  • Winds: North winds at 5 to 6 Beaufort, occasionally reaching 7 Beaufort in the early morning.
  • Temperature: 11°C to 18°C.

Eastern Aegean Islands and Dodecanese:

  • Weather: Clear skies.
  • Winds: North-northeast at 5 to 6 Beaufort in the north, northwest at 4 to 6 Beaufort in the south.
  • Temperature: 12°C to 19°C.

Thessaly:

  • Weather: Clear with local morning clouds.
  • Winds: Variable at 3 to 4 Beaufort; northern winds in the Sporades up to 4 Beaufort.
  • Temperature: 0°C to 13°C; Sporades: 9°C to 14°C.

Sunday, January 19:
Increased cloud cover in the west with possible light rain in the Ionian Islands by evening. Elsewhere, skies will remain mostly clear. Visibility may be limited in some areas during morning and evening hours.

  • Temperature: Slight rise, with highs of 12°C to 19°C across the country. Frost will persist in the northern regions during morning hours.

Monday, January 20:
Scattered clouds will thicken, bringing rain to the west and south, and gradually spreading to other regions. Sporadic thunderstorms expected in the west, with occasional snowfall in the mountains of the Peloponnese, Central Greece, Epirus, and western Macedonia.

Rain and sporadic thunderstorms forecast across the country, especially in the Ionian, Peloponnese, Cyclades, and Crete. Snowfall expected in the northwestern mountains.

  • Winds: West-southwest at 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally up to 5 Beaufort in southern regions.
  • Temperature: No significant change.
