Dead a 48-year-old man, a father of three, was found dead in a village in Heraklion today (Friday, Jan. 17).

According to neakriti.gr, the tragic incident occurred between 2 and 3 pm. The news caused shock and grief in the local community as residents of the area heard the shooting and rushed to see what had happened.

The man was found inside his home, carrying a shotgun wound to the chest. Authorities are investigating the circumstances under which the incident occurred, and so far have ruled out the possibility of foul play.

According to testimonies, the 48-year-old was known as a very loving and devoted family man, which makes this tragic development even more shocking for his fellow residents.
