According to Turkish diplomatic sources, the two ministers discussed developments in Syria and the broader region.
The two sides agreed on the need to maintain Syria’s political unity, the same sources reported.
Regional developments centered around Syria were on the agenda of the talks held in Ankara on Wednesday by the Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentiev, who met with President Erdoğan’s diplomatic advisor, Akif Çagatay Kilic.
