Forensic pathologist Roubini Leontari resigns from the Vasilis Kalogirou case

The head of the Larissa Forensic Service was one of the two state-appointed forensic experts handling the case

Newsroom February 21 02:48

Forensic pathologist Roubini Leontari, head of the Larissa Forensic Service, announced her resignation from the investigation into the cause of death of 39-year-old psychologist Vasilis Kalogirou on Friday afternoon, as she confirmed to protothema.gr.

Leontari was one of two state forensic experts assigned to the case, while the victim’s family has also appointed an independent technical consultant. It remains unclear whether Leontari has formally submitted her withdrawal request.

Her involvement in the case had been criticized in a social media post by Maria Karystianou, president of the Association of Relatives of the Tempi Train Disaster Victims. The reasons behind Leontari’s decision to step down remain unknown.
