The local community of Galalalitsa in Halkidiki is shocked by the death of a 60-year-old woman in a tragic accident.

The woman was lifting wood on her balcony with a forklift and in her attempt to lift it, she touched the railings which gave way and she was thrown into the void, according to xalkidikipolitiki.com.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. Reports say the balcony had wooden railings which were in poor condition.

The 60-year-old woman was a mother of two adult children. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22.
