“Upon completion of the project, the Andrikakis Camp will become a reference point for the film and new technology industries,” stated Lina Mendoni.
A donation agreement for the development of all necessary studies for the creation of an Audiovisual Industry Center in Drama, at the Andrikakis military camp, was signed by the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni and Raycap S.A. representative, Kalissa Apostolidou.
The company’s donation covers the development of studies for the restoration of four buildings within the Andrikakis Camp, as well as the landscaping of the surrounding area, to create a modern audiovisual hub. This center will also house the Drama International Short Film Festival.
As Culture Minister Lina Mendoni stated:
“Drama, with its long cinematic tradition, is acquiring a space of international standards dedicated to the audiovisual arts, boosting not only local but especially national film production. Raycap S.A.’s generous donation, through which all the necessary studies for the four buildings at the Andrikakis Camp are being developed, accelerates the implementation of this ambitious project, as it ‘unlocks’ funding from the Regional Operational Programme of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace – NSRF 2021–2027, and from the Development Operational Programme of the Ministry of Culture. Upon completion, the Andrikakis Camp will become a landmark for the film and new technology industries in our country.
The Audiovisual Industry Center is not just a pioneering cultural investment, but a major development pillar for Drama and all of Northern Greece. It will create unique conditions for the growth of the cultural and creative industries in our country. I sincerely thank the family of the late Kostas Apostolidis and the Raycap team for yet another generous contribution to our homeland.”
The Donation Agreement Covers the Following:
- Architectural Study, including Passive Fire Protection, Acoustics, and Accessibility Studies
- Landscape and Planting Study
- Structural Study – Reinforcements
