A blackout that occurred this morning has affected the whole of Spain. According to Spanish media, the power outage has also impacted entire regions in Portugal and France.

The power outage has caused massive disruption, affecting transportation services. Metro has announced a general power outage, preventing the normal operation of all its network lines. At the same time, power has not yet been restored at Barajas Airport.

Chaos prevails in traffic, as traffic lights are not working and drivers are unsure of what to do. Reports also mention problems with telephone lines.

For the time being, the cause of the outage remains unknown. In cities like Seville, Barcelona, and Pamplona, service has not yet been restored.

Reports state that the system’s managing company, Red Eléctrica, has already activated a restoration plan for power supply, noting that the causes are being analyzed and all resources are being devoted to resolving the issue.
