New Democracy welcomes the election of Kostis Hadjidakis as Vice President of the European People’s Party.
The election of Mr. Hatzidakis by 550 electors at the EPP Congress, held in Valencia, Spain, marks the return of New Democracy to the EPP Vice-Presidency after 20 years. This development is an important recognition of the strength of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy in the European centre-right, the ruling party said.
The statement of the New Democracy Party:
“New Democracy welcomes the election of Kostis Hatzidakis, MP for the B1 North Sector of Athens and Vice President of the Government, to the position of Vice President of the European People’s Party.
The election was made by 550 voters attending the party’s Congress held in Valencia, Spain, and marks the return of New Democracy to the EPP vice-presidency after 20 years.
It is a great honour for Greece and reflects the strength of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy in the European centre-right.
We wish Mr Hatzidakis good luck in his new duties.”
