A new era in the habits of churchgoers begins with the first official integration of a POS terminal with a church donation box. The system has already been installed at the Church of Saint Dionysius the Areopagite in Kolonaki, offering church visitors the option to make contactless transactions with a card.
As the priest of the Catholic church mentioned, tourists had been asking for this option, as they often don’t carry cash, and so it was decided to proceed with this measure for the convenience of the faithful.
The specific device can accept even very small donations, as little as one cent, while it has a limit (cap) at €1,000.
