A 4.5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Evia at 3:23 a.m. on Monday. The tremor was felt throughout Attica, including Athens.
According to the revised report from the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter was 3 km east of Prokopi, Evia, with a focal depth of 16.9 km.

Earlier, the automatic solution from the same institute had initially placed the epicenter 8 km east of Prokopi, with a depth of 5 km.

Initially, the automatic system had recorded the epicenter 6 km east-northeast of Prokopi, again estimating the depth at 5 km.

Beyond Attica, the earthquake was also felt in the Sporades islands, such as Skiathos and Skopelos, as well as in Elefsina.
A second tremor followed a few minutes later at 3:43 a.m., measuring 3.6R, in the same area, 8 km east-northeast of Prokopi, at a depth of 5 km.
