A scandal has erupted in Cyprus after videos and photos surfaced showing police officers engaging in sexual activity inside a patrol vehicle.

While footage or images of two individuals in an intimate encounter might not normally attract attention, in this case, the backdrop of a Cypriot police patrol car has sparked significant controversy.

The video and photos were taken by a civilian who, in a remote area among fields in Larnaca, noticed a police patrol car. Upon closer inspection, he realized that the male and female officers inside were not investigating a crime — their presence in the field, during working hours and using an official vehicle, appeared to have an entirely different purpose.

The material has since been submitted to the Cyprus Police leadership, which is expected to make a formal statement later today.
