A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck the greater Naples area at 12:47 p.m. local time.

This was the strongest tremor in the region in the past 40 years, an area already known for its high seismic activity. According to current reports, no injuries or material damage have been recorded.

As a precaution, many residents left their homes and offices. The earthquake had a focal depth of 5 kilometers. Train services in the Naples area were suspended as a safety measure.
