The Greek National Tourism Organization carried out yet another initiative to boost Santorini’s visibility in international markets at the end of June.
Specifically, from June 26 to 30, two journalists from Sweden visited the island as part of a press trip organized by the GNTO’s Scandinavian office in cooperation with the Municipality of Thira.
The trip was attended by Eva Suzanne Nilsson, publisher of the luxury travel magazine FirstClass Magazine, and Markus Olsson, a well-known journalist and travel blogger (mittgrekland.se).
During their stay in Santorini, the two journalists had the opportunity to discover the island’s authentic character through a program that included visits to archaeological sites and museums, tours of local wineries, tastings at agritourism units, and culinary experiences at select restaurants with views of the caldera and the island’s traditional architecture.
The initiative is part of GNTO’s broader strategy to promote Greece in the Swedish market by highlighting unique aspects of the Greek tourism product, such as gastronomy and culture.
