The Prime Minister’s Office has announced changes to the General Secretaries of several ministries. A key highlight is the replacement of all three General Secretaries at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The most notable “transfer” is that of the head of DYPA (Public Employment Service), Spyros Protopsaltis, whose term was deemed successful. He now takes on the role of Secretary General for Rural Development and Food. The new Secretary General for Agricultural Policy and International Relations is Antonis Filippis, currently president of ELGO-Dimitra and a close associate of Minister Kostas Tsiaras.
There have also been changes in the Decentralized Administrations, and it was announced that former minister Kostis Mousouroulis will now serve as an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis.
The new General Secretaries in the ministries are:
Secretary General for Communication and Information: Dimitris Kirmikiroglou
Secretary General for Primary, Secondary Education, and Special Education: Giannis Papadomarkakis
Secretary General for Public Health: Christina-Maria Kravvari
Secretary General for Transport: Stelios Sakaretsios
Secretary General for Energy and Mineral Resources: Despoina Paliarouta
Secretary General for Rural Development and Food: Spyros Protopsaltis
Secretary General for Agricultural Policy and International Relations: Antonis Filippis
Secretary General for Union Resources and Infrastructure (Ministry of Rural Development and Food): Argyro Zerva
Special Secretary for Hydraulic Works and Buildings (Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport): Charalampos Mygdalas
Additionally:
Secretary General for the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia–Thrace: Dimitris Galamatis (previous Secretary General for Communication and Information)
Transferred to the Decentralized Administration of Epirus–Western Macedonia: Giannis Savvas (previously in Macedonia–Thrace)
Secretary General for the Decentralized Administration of Thessaly–Central Greece: Rena Karalariotou, civil engineer and former vice-president of ODITH
Also, Kostis Mousouroulis is appointed as advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, Kostis Hatzidakis, responsible for coordinating the negotiations on the EU’s Multiannual Financial Framework.
