On Saturday night, the Turkish occupation regime arrested five Greek-Cypriot refugees (men and women) who had visited the occupied Trikomo, accusing them of “espionage.”
This development was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Gotsis.
The five Greek-Cypriots, who are elderly, had visited their properties in the occupied village. This move, that is, their arrest, is considered at first glance to be a response by the occupying power to the prosecutions of usurpers of Greek-Cypriot properties.
The five were expected to be brought before a “court” in the occupied areas on Sunday noon.
