Johnny Depp pays tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with appearance at Alice Cooper concert

Just days after the passing of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76, Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at an Alice Cooper concert in London, delivering a moving tribute to the legendary rocker

Newsroom July 29 09:25

Depp, 62, who is both an actor and musician, took the stage at the iconic O2 Arena, guitar in hand, and joined Cooper for a fiery rendition of the classic Black Sabbath anthem “Paranoid.” Cooper handled the vocals, wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with Osbourne’s face, while Depp ripped through the riffs alongside him.

The performance continued with a powerful mash-up of Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2,” electrifying the audience and honoring Osbourne’s rebellious spirit in style.

This unexpected moment also marked a reunion between Depp and Cooper, both of whom are members of the rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires, which also features Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. The band was named after a legendary 1970s drinking club formed by Cooper, Ringo Starr, Keith Moon (The Who), Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), and Harry Nilsson—rock icons known for their wild nights and deep friendships.

Videos and photos of Depp’s appearance quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans calling the tribute “brilliant” and “goosebump-worthy.” Clips show the crowd erupting in cheers as Depp walks onstage, guitar slung over his shoulder, and the emotional weight of the moment was palpable.

Ozzy Osbourne, known as the “Prince of Darkness,” left an indelible mark on rock music and inspired generations with his distinctive voice, theatrical persona, and unfiltered personality. Depp’s heartfelt tribute was a fitting nod to a man who shaped the sound of heavy metal and redefined what it meant to be a rock star.

The performance wasn’t just a musical homage—it was a celebration of legacy, friendship, and the enduring power of rock ‘n’ roll.
