Countries participating in the planned meeting of the“Alliance of the Willing”to support Ukraine to be held Thursday in Paris are considering inviting the US President Donald Trump to the meeting to be held via video conference, a German government spokesman said.
“I can’t anticipate anything, but there are discussions to invite the president of the US,” the government spokesman said during a press conference in Berlin today.
It is noted that the meeting will take place tomorrow, Thursday, in France and the leaders of the states supporting Ukraine will communicate via teleconference.
Tomorrow’s meeting is expected to focus on security guarantees for Ukraine and Russia’s refusal to make peace, the Elysee statement added.
For his part, US President Donald Trump said yesterday that he is “very unhappy” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding – without elaboration – that his administration plans to do something to reduce deaths in the war in Ukraine.
“I am very unhappy with Putin, that’s what I can say, and we will do something to help people live,” he said.
