Lakis Gavalas revealed previously unknown details about his marriage to a model from Norway. The designer spoke candidly about their personal life and the deep love they shared, highlighting how emotionally moved he was during their relationship.
Gavalas is the guest on tonight’s episode of “Protagonistes” (Protagonists), and a preview of his interview was aired on Happy Day.
He began by recalling how they met in London when he was just 22 years old:
“I had married a model who was from Norway. We met in London, where she had come for a job. I was 22 at the time. I admired the male form as an ideal—I wanted to look like a kouros statue, and I’m still trying, but it’s not happening,” he said with a smile.
Speaking about that period of his life, he described the intense love they shared:
“We fell deeply in love. She gave me so much attention, touched me on so many levels. She even made me buy an automatic car so I wouldn’t have to worry about changing gears—so my hand would always be free to hold hers.”
As Gavalas has mentioned in past interviews, their marriage lasted for nine years, and while they are no longer in contact, he still considers her one of the most important chapters of his life.
