Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have been married since 1988 and have two sons: Chester “Chet” Marlon Hanks, 35, and Truman Theodore Hanks, 29. Hanks also has two children from his previous marriage to Samantha Lewes: Colin Hanks, 47, and Elizabeth Hanks, 43.

The couple first met in 1981 on the set of the TV series Bosom Buddies, where they immediately formed a close friendship that later blossomed into a relationship. Their first public appearance together on the red carpet was in 1986.

In a 2001 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks spoke openly about their marriage: “The success of our relationship comes down to timing, maturity, and our willingness to have a deep, honest connection.
