The acquisition of the fourth FDI frigate for the Greek Navy is now being finalized, as the General Directorate of Defence Equipment and Investments (GDAEE) announced today the completion of the signature process for the HS Themistocles.

Specifically, on Friday, November 14, the 1st amendment to contracts 16B/21 and 17B/21 concerning the Supply of the 4th FDI HN Standard 2++ Frigate, after the On-Board Support Services with NAVAL Group was signed by the Director General of the DGCAEE, Major General Ioannis Bouras.

It should be noted that the relevant Draft Law, which was submitted by the Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, was passed by the Greek Parliament on 3/10/2025, as well as the publication of Law 5235/2025 on 7/10/2025 (Government Gazette A 173).

Meanwhile, on December 18, the flag-raising ceremony will reportedly take place on the frigate HS Kimon, with the ceremony taking place in Lorient, France.
