Video of the clashes with injured people that took place on Saturday morning at the Polytechnic when groups of far-leftists clashed with anarchists was posted on X by Adonis Georgiadis.

As the Health Minister says, “the video you are watching shows images of the beating of anarchist groups by some members of the AR.A.S. (The Left Anti-Capitalist Coalition) is a political organization of the Greek Left, with a communist – anti-capitalist orientation) at the Polytechnic yesterday (Saturday).”

“Beyond now the joking and trolling towards them for their behavior, these images of violence are completely unacceptable. Shame on them!” Georgiades commented.

The announcement of Mera25

Today, 16 November 2025, on the eve of the 52nd anniversary of the Polytechnic uprising, the Political Secretariat of MERA25 held an extraordinary meeting and unanimously voted in favour of the proposal of the party secretary, Giannis Varoufakis, to terminate the cooperation between MERA25 and ARAS, following the violent incidents at the Polytechnic.

This decision not only does not weaken but strengthens the unifying initiative of MERA25 | Subversive Ecological Left. With an eye on the world of work and young people, we will work with faith in building mounds against an authoritarian government and a compromised opposition that are hurting society, dismantling labour relations, embezzling public education and public health, selling off public wealth, sticking to the arms race and destroying every natural resource of the country.

We call on everyone to mass participation in the rallies and marches for the anniversary of the Polytechnic all over the country.
