Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Minister of Economy, met with Germany’s Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Finance, Lars Klingbeil, in Berlin. In a social media post, Minister Pierrakakis highlighted the confirmation of the strategic character of the relations between Greece and Germany and discussed prospects for new cross-border collaborations between the two countries.
Specifically, Mr. Pierrakakis wrote:
“Today in Berlin, together with Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil, we confirmed the strategic nature of Greece-Germany relations, discussing the prospect of new cross-border collaborations between our countries.
Europe must move swiftly and decisively towards economic and financial integration. In this context, the Savings and Investment Union can play a crucial role in unlocking the full potential of our development and productive capacities.
The German Vice Chancellor and I share the belief that obstacles to the single market must be removed—obstacles that, as Mario Draghi points out, act like tariffs within the EU. Only then can we build true ‘European champions.’”
