According to a statement from the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the scammers aim to steal personal information and obtain illegal profit by asking recipients to pay 100 euros as a supposed “logistics and registration fee” for “secure packaging, transport, and delivery.”
To make the message appear legitimate, the fraudsters use the name of the Minister of Development, Takis Theodorikakos, falsely claiming the initiative is a “direct order” from him. They have also created a fake email address to support the deception.
ELAS emphasizes that the circulated email is completely fraudulent, carries a fake official seal, and is sent by criminals attempting to mislead citizens for financial gain.
Police advice: Citizens should not respond, delete the message immediately, and avoid opening any attachments.
