Argentine President Javier Milei said he is working with other Latin American nations to form an alliance that embraces the ideas of freedom and fights the cancer of socialism.
“We haven’t given it a name yet, but there is a group of ten countries with which we are working and with which we will continue to move forward,” the extreme liberal head of state said, without specifying which countries he was referring to, according to a quote from an interview with CNN.
President Milei seeks for this alliance to confront “the cancer of socialism in all its different forms, whether it be 21st century socialism or woke ideology.”
In recent months, President Milei of Argentina has been indulging in approaches with Latin American leaders such as Paraguay’s President Santiago Peña, El Salvador’s President Najib Boukele, Honduras’ President-elect Nasri Asfura.
Outside the region, he has repeatedly expressed his willingness to strengthen or forge alliances with leaders such as US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban and Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni.
