Meteorologist Giorgos Tsatrafyllias forecasts two atmospheric disturbances that will affect Greece over the next few days, continuing through the end of the week. At the same time, the National Meteorological Service predicts partial transport of African dust primarily over western, central, and southern regions during the February 5–7 period.
According to Tsatrafyllias, “The two atmospheric disturbances, occurring Wednesday to Friday and Sunday to Monday, will be the main weather concerns this week.” He adds, “In addition to dust, southerly winds will bring warmer air masses from southern latitudes, causing temperatures throughout the week to be 4 to 6 degrees above normal.”
Most precipitation is expected in western Greece, eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and the eastern islands, with snowfall limited to high altitudes.
