Greek authorities were placed on alert shortly before midday on Monday after receiving a bomb threat targeting the French embassy on Akadimias Street in central Athens.
According to reports, the call was made at 11:40, prompting an immediate response from a large police presence alongside a team from the Bomb Disposal Squad (ΤΕΕΜ), which is now searching the building.
As a result of the operation, the Hellenic Police (ΕΛ.ΑΣ.) has suspended traffic on Akadimias Street, from its junction with Kanari Street, until the search is completed.
