Greek coast guard authorities located and rescued 46 foreign nationals who were aboard a small boat in the sea area 39 nautical miles south-southeast of Gavdos, under the coordination of the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC).
The boat was spotted by a Frontex unmanned aerial vehicle, while a passing private vessel also assisted in the rescue operation.
The 46 migrants were picked up by an Offshore Patrol Vessel of the Hellenic Coast Guard and are being transported to the port of Agia Galini, Crete.
