Billionaire Dell founder Michael Dell has publicly defended his wife, Susan Dell, by reposting messages on social media condemning the insulting remarks made about her appearance during a recent visit to the White House.
The 61-year-old businessman has spent the past few days sharing posts praising his family’s philanthropic contributions, while thanking those who came to the defence of his 62-year-old wife.
The online abuse began after photographs and videos emerged from an event in Washington, DC, where the couple announced a $6.25 billion donation aimed at providing financial support to 25 million children. Rather than focusing on the donation, however, some social media users criticised Susan’s appearance, prompting a backlash that included a response from US President Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump.
Susan Dell, wife of Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell, encouraged families to register for Trump Accounts while speaking alongside the president on Wednesday. After Mrs. Dell’s speech, President Trump asked Mr. Dell whether his wife was considering running for office and gave her his "complete and total endorsement." The Dells previously pledged a donation of $6.25 billion to the Trump Accounts.

‘They gave billions to children, yet people are discussing her appearance’
The comments prompted a wave of support for Susan, with social media users highlighting the scale of the couple’s charitable contribution.
Conservative commentator Mike Cernovich wrote on X: “The Dell family gave 7 billion dollars directly to American children. And instead of gratitude, there’s much discussion of a 62-year-old woman’s looks.” Similar responses appeared beneath posts criticising Susan, with some parents saying their children had already benefited from the donation.
“All of a sudden, $250 appeared from Dell for each of my two boys. I’ll do everything I can to support them from now on. Who else has done what they did? Nobody,” one user wrote, adding: “It’s truly unbelievable how mean and arrogant people can be.”
Another commented: “My grandson received $250 in his Trump Account from Susan Dell. Please leave this woman alone.” Michael reposted both messages, adding emojis to express his gratitude.
People are awful. Susan and Michael Dell just put $6.25 billion into Trump Accounts for 25 million kids so they’ll have something waiting for them when they grow up—one of, if not the largest private donation in American History. The response? Vicious attacks on her. I’m tired of this nonsense. Very few people have done more for philanthropy. It’s disgusting and it has to stop. Susan, on behalf of the overwhelming majority of people in this nation: Thank You!! You are incredible! @DellFdn @MichaelDell

Eric Trump condemns attacks: ‘It’s disgusting and it needs to stop’
Eric Trump also came to Susan’s defence, condemning the online attacks in a post on X. “People are awful. Susan and Michael Dell just gave $6.25 billion to Trump Accounts for 25 million children, so they have something waiting for them when they grow up. This is one of the largest private donations in American history,” he wrote.
He went on to express his outrage at the treatment Susan had received. “And what was the response? Vicious attacks against her. I’m so tired of this nonsense. Very few people have given more to charity. It’s disgusting and it needs to stop,” he said.
Trump ended his post with a personal message to Susan: “On behalf of the overwhelming majority of people in this country: Thank you! You are amazing!”
Thank-you letters from children
Michael also chose to share several thank-you letters the family had already received from children who had benefited from the donation. One, written in a child’s handwriting, read: “Dear Dell family, thank you for the money in my Trump Account. I’m very happy to be saving for my future.” In another letter, an eight-year-old girl from Arizona wrote: “I’m grateful for the money you put into my account. Thank you for helping me save for my future.”
The couple’s initiative was announced in 2025 by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and is intended to provide financial support to 25 million children through the so-called Trump Accounts, a programme also funded by the US government.
The accounts are established for children under the age of 18 who have a US Social Security number. The money is invested with the aim of increasing its value over time, and beneficiaries cannot access the funds until they turn 18.
I just had to say this to get it off my chest. To everybody who has been attacking Susan Dell, a 62 year-old mother of four who just donated billions of dollars to help young American families, f—k off. You are no better than Donald Trump, who constantly attacks women for no reason other than the fact that they’re against him politically.

From a blind date to building a business empire
Michael and Susan met on a blind date in 1988, when his company was still in the early stages of its development.
Michael had founded his business at just 19 years old, starting with $1,000 in capital. He went on to build one of the world’s largest technology companies. The couple married in 1989 and have four children: three daughters, Alexa, Kira and Juliette, and a son, Zachary.
According to Forbes estimates cited in the report, Dell’s personal fortune is approaching $300 billion. Susan has also pursued her own philanthropic work. She previously served on former US President George W. Bush’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, which sought to promote exercise and healthy lifestyles among Americans.
In 1999, the couple established the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, through which they have supported numerous initiatives focused on children, education and social development.
