The social security reform turned to be a critical moment for the Greek government, since if it is voted without any political casualties, the stability of the government will be determined. Otherwise, it might pave the way to coalition governments and new political developments.
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras failed to get opposition’s parties consent to the proposed law on social security system.
At the same time, he intensifies his efforts to convince the government’s members on supporting the new law to be tabled to Parliament so as to avoid any political casualties during the voting process.
Rumors say it is very likely the government to find other MPs who are willing to support in principle the draft law in order to avoid political instability with Vasilis Leventis being one of them. But, sources say that other MPs from opposition parties who do not agree with the hard line followed by their leaderships might also vote for the new law.
