Turkish TV presenter/Turkish TV8 Channel owner Acun Ilicali dominated  Greek press reports on Monday with talk of a meeting he had with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras regarding the acquisition of a TV license to operate in Greece. The charismatic young TV personality studied at the Kadıköy Maarif College and prestigious Anatolia High School of Istanbul before studying at the University of Istanbul. He nonetheless abandoned his studies early with dreams of making it big in the business world.

His first business venture was the operation of a clothes shop at Bağdat Caddesi Street before it went bankrupt when he was just 21 years. Undeterred by failure he turned to Turkish TV and founded his own production company Acun Medya in 2003 that soon rose to become one of the best in Turkey.

In 2013, he went one step further and bought his own TV8.

Aged 46 years, he has been married twice after divorcing his first wife Senda in 1993 whom he had married in 1988. In 2003 he married Zeynep Ilıcalı, with whom he has two daughters – Leyla and Yasemin. Scandal broke out in 2010 when he admitted to an affair with TV personality Şeyma Subaşı with whom he acquired a fourth daughter, Melisa.

He has starred in the comedy series and many cinema films. According “celebritynetworth,” Ilicali has a net worth of $100 million which is approximately equivalent to $US265 million.
