The Porsche driven by Paul Walker’s friend Roger Rodas is not responsible for the horrific car crash that killed both men in 2013, according to a federal judge’s ruling.

Walker and his friend Roger Roads died when the Carrera GT they were both in and driven by Rodas crashed into a tree.

The Rodas family filed a lawsuit against Porsche claiming that the car they were driving had various ‘defects’ which contributed to the deadly crash.

As The Hollywood Reporter mentions, U.S. District Court Judge Philip S. Gutierrez threw out the case, adding there was “no competent evidence that Rodas’ death occurred as a result of any wrongdoing” by Porsche.

After the verdict, Roda’s attorney stated that the decision was “a miscarriage of justice which we hope to reverse on appeal”.

However, this ruling does not have any impact on lawsuits filed against Porsche by Paul’s daughter Meadow, who claims that her father died in ‘a dangerous car that doesn’t belong on the street.’
