The Greek government seems to be unable to deal with the refugee issue, with authorities trying to remove the refugees and immigrants from the makeshift camps of Idomeni and Piraeus with no success.

The refugees refuse leaving the camps protesting against the closed borders and demand to be allowed to continue their journey to Europe.

The readmission of the immigrants to Turkey continues with many problems. This week, only 326 refugees were sent back to Turkey from the Aegean islands while 97 people were sent back from Evros.

However, in order to stay in Greece and avoid being sent back to Turkey, thousands of people submitted an asylum application securing their stay for at least one month until they have their case examined.

In the meantime, though, refugees continue arriving at the Greek islands, while a group of people also passed through border at Evros, northern Greece, with the total number of refugees exceeding 53,000.

The situation is out of control, since incidents among refugees are recorded every day in the camps, while local residents have started to react intensively.
