Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will chair the government council on foreign and defence policy (KYSEA) in order to discuss the latest developments on the refugees crisis, the condition in the Aegean regarding the presence of NATO and the implementation of the EU-Turkey’s agreement.

Moreover, the KYSEA will discuss the situation at the refugees camp in Idomeni. According to government sources, the council is expected to discuss recent violations of Greek airspace by Turkish military aircrafts and particularly the series of violations over the islands of Oinousses in the Aegean Sea.

The situation in the Aegean Sea is getting out of control, since despite NATO vessels presence in the area (which seems to complicate even more the situation), Turkey continues challenging Greece’s sovereignty in the Aegean Sea.

According to politischios.gr, a serious incident took place in the sea area off the Greek island of Oinousses on Wednesday night, when a Turkish ship entered Greek waters and refused to withdraw despite the repeated warnings of Greek coast guard. The Turkish vessel even pointed its weapons against the Greek ship.
