Following the gig cancellations by a number of diverse artists, including Neil Young, Kansas, Paul Anka, Cee Lo Green, Backstreet Boys and Megadeth, Lana Del Rey has become the latest Western musician to postpone a concert in Israel due to security concerns.
The famous American singer, whose latest album “Ultraviolence” debuted at No 1 on the US charts, had been scheduled to play her first concert in Israel on August 20.
A statement released by the spokesman for the show’s producers 2b Vibes read: “The artist really wanted to come, but unfortunately we were the ones who had to postpone it because this is not the right time to advertise and push a concert and also because Israel Defense Forces’ regional Home Front Command allows gathering of up to a thousand people only.”
According to newspaper Jerusalem Post a new date will be announced and those that bought tickets will still be able to attend the re-scheduled gig with no extra cost.
