The pregnancy rumors regarding Kate Middleton, 32, mother to Prince George and wife to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, were finally confirmed, though an official announcement released by the couple.
The announcement stated the following: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news. As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.”
British Prime Minister David Cameron was among the first to congratulate the young couple on the happy news.
It should be noted that Kate was hospitalized early in her first pregnancy because of the above mentioned condition, which can cause severe nausea, vomiting and dehydration in pregnant women. Unlike her first pregnancy, however, Kate is now being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace and has not been admitted to hospital.
