The US Supreme Court is preparing to overturn a landmark 1973 ruling recognizing the right to abortion, the Politico news website reported Monday, citing a leaked draft document.

In particular, according to the publication, the conservative majority shows that a vote has already been held to overturn the historic decision in the case of Roe vs Wade in 1973, which legalized abortion at the national level.

Reuters news agency notes that it is not able to verify the authenticity of the document independently.

The Supreme Court and the White House declined to comment on the article.
