The 17 people convicted as clients of the minor or as possessors of pornographic material of the child broke into applause yesterday shortly before the curtain fell on the Cologne case as they heard the president of the Mixed Jury Court announce that they were granted parole pending appeal.
Earlier, however, the court had given them the following sentences: 7 years’ imprisonment to four of them who were found more than once with the minor, 6 years’ imprisonment to five defendants who were found once with her, 5 years’ imprisonment to three defendants who considered the 12-year-old to be older, 3 years’ imprisonment to two of the convicts and 4 years’ imprisonment to one for attempted sexual intercourse and finally 13 and 15 months’ imprisonment respectively to two defendants for pornography.
On the contrary, 55-year-old Elias Mihos, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape of the 12-year-old girl and an additional 27 years (estimated at 20 years) for the offences of abuse of a minor under the age of 14, pornography of a minor, pimping and illegal possession of weapons. In addition, a fine of 4,100 euros was imposed on the 55-year-old.
In fact, when Elias Michos left the courtroom, some people booed him and the police officers quickly drove him out of the Court of Appeal.
Earlier, the court had not recognized any mitigating circumstances to the 55-year-old mini-market owner in Sepolia. Nor did it recognise any mitigating factor for the so-called “Michael”, nor, however, for the mother of the 12-year-old girl. Michael’ was found guilty of the offences of aggravated pimping and child pornography and was also fined 2,500 euros.
He was a retired sailor who booked the horror dates with the minor. According to the case file, he urged the child to have sexual intercourse for a fee with his alleged friends and promoted her into prostitution by “uploading” naked photos of her on an internet site.
At the same time, the girl was promised big profits if she joined “the fat circuit” by meeting “shipowners and money men”, making “visits to yachts” and taking part in erotic films! The sentence handed down by the court was 18 years’ imprisonment.

At the same time, out of jail will be immediately – most likely within the day – the 38-year-old mother of the minor, who was found guilty only of the misdemeanor of extortion against the ex-wife of Elias Michos and acquitted by the majority of the jury of the felony of pimping against her own daughter and of pornography.
She was given a 20-month prison sentence, but has already been in prison on remand for 18 months.
She has served the full sentence required by law for release from prison. Elias Michos and “Michalis” are thus the only ones out of a total of 20 convicts who will be in prison.
