A devastating explosion has rocked a hydroelectric power plant located near the town of Suviana, just outside Bologna, Italy.

The explosion, which occurred within an electricity generator, has left a trail of destruction and chaos, with six individuals reported missing and four others suffering from serious burns.

The incident has prompted a swift and coordinated response, with approximately seventy firefighters and a contingent of carabinieri mobilised to the scene.
