Greek businessmen in Zambia

They choose Zambia mainly because of the country's stable political situation and tax incentives

Newsroom October 15 11:19

Greek businessmen seek new opportunities and partnerships in Zambia. The increasingly intense presence of Greeks in the country is impressive, whereas most businessmen are engaged in trade, food service and agricultural products.

An impressive example is Dar Farms company, which belongs to Evangelatos family. It is the largest integrated farm in Zambia and perhaps the largest in sub-Saharan Africa. The farm produces meat and milk and covers a large area similar to Peloponnese, Greece.

Another example is Andronikos Antonopoulos who has established a clinic of 125 beds which serves as a clinic and diagnostic center. It is considered one of the most modern clinics in the area of Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.
Also, most restaurants in the area belong to Greek and Cypriot businessmen.

Some of the most successful companies in Zambia include the Greek companies Infosense Ltd, Pharmex Zambia Ltd and Importus Ltd.

Moreover, many Greek companies export their goods to Zambia, including Chipita, Ferro, Foodrinco, Semeli, Credin Hellas, Pittas and Paliria.

Greek businessmen choose Zambia because of the country’s stable political situation and tax incentives. According to World Bank data regarding 20 countries with the fastest growth worldwide, Zambia is among the top countries with its growth rate at 6% in 2013.

Moreover, the natural resources of Zambia, the major agricultural crops and cattle raising contribute to Zambia’s growth.
