The increase in violence in French society is an issue of concern for 7 out of 10 French people. This is according to a survey that was carried out by Odoxa-Backbone for Le Figaro. The study results indicate that 70% of French citizens do not trust the country’s political leadership to handle crime and terrorism effectively.

Beyond security issues, the survey reveals that the French are more concerned about their purchasing power (46%) and rising prices (35%), and less about national debt and deficits (11%) or the war in Ukraine (10%).

Additionally, the research outlined that 72% of respondents consider President Emmanuel Macron’s policies ineffective in addressing the subject of insecurity, compared to 64% who hold same views in regards to Prime Minister Gabriel Attal’s policies.
