Apostolos Lytras: Who is his wife, Sophia Polyzogopoulou – “I’m a mess” she says in her first statement

She is a fierce lawyer, particularly sensitive to issues of gender violence - What she said about living with Apostolos Lytras

Newsroom June 17 07:23

The wife of Apostolos Lytras remains in a bad psychological state after being beaten by the criminal lawyer.

“I’m a mess both physically and mentally. I am trying to preserve both my physical and mental health. Things have gone my way. I’m not well. How can I be okay? I couldn’t take it anymore,” Sofia Polyzogopoulou said in her first reaction after being beaten, speaking to Star.

Who is Sofia Polyzogopoulou

Sophia Polyzogopoulou is a lawyer in Greek Supreme Court, a graduate of the Law School of the Kapodistrian University of Athens and has attended a Sociology of Law program.

She is also a member of the Association of Criminal Lawyers of Greece and the Association of Criminal Lawyers and Struggling Lawyers, as well as a research associate at the Scientific Group of Young Political Scientists. And of course, she has also been involved in public affairs in her home town of Amaliada.

The 37-year-old lawyer is particularly sensitive to issues concerning violence and has worked on the eradication of violence against women and children and on juvenile delinquency and is a legal advisor at the Shelter for Abused Women.

Apostolos Lytras and Sophia Polyzogopoulou have a daughter, Danae, together, and the criminal lawyer has two older daughters from his previous marriage.

In a joint interview of the couple on Mega Kalimera, Sophia Polyzogopoulou had talked about law school and her relationship with the well-known criminal lawyer. “I never felt fear. If you handle cases with excellence, conscientiously and are honest with your clients, there is no reason to feel fear. Many times some people confuse the lawyer with the defendant he represents and there are reactions, but if these reactions would scare or overwhelm me, I would not have chosen this profession,” Sophia Polyzogopoulou had noted.

“We met through mutual acquaintances and it wasn’t long before we started a family with a child. I have two children from my previous marriage. What could my wife say, that I am selfish? That I get irritated easily. I admire my wife Sophia, she is devoted to her family and her child and supports me. When we disagree on something, let’s not lie, the lawyer comes out of us”, Apostolos Lytras has said in a joint interview he had given with Sofia Polyzogopoulou, while his wife had said that “He is an intelligent and sensitive man, an excellent husband and a good dad. We argue about simple and everyday things and our discussions are marathon”.
