Israel: Support for the electrical interconnection Project with Greece and Cyprus

The Israeli Energy Minister, Eli Cohen, expressed Israel's support for the creation of an electrical interconnection pipeline between his country, Greece, and Cyprus, during a conversation with his Cypriot counterpart, Giorgos Papanastasiou

In their telephone discussion, Cohen emphasized the importance of the “Great Sea Interconnector” project, describing it as a “pioneering initiative” that would “enhance regional energy security.”

In a detailed statement, Cohen said:

“I spoke with the Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry of Cyprus, Mr. Giorgos Papanastasiou. We emphasized the strong ties and ongoing cooperation between Israel and Cyprus, and I stressed the great significance of the ‘Great Sea Interconnector’ project for Israel.
