The first results of the counting of votes differentiate the look and feel created by the exit polls, especially in the Municipality of Athens. Specifically, before two hours have passed since voting ended, G. Kaminis is leading in the municipality with 21.71%, followed by G. Sakellaridis with 19.97%, Aris Spiliotopoulos with 16.97% and Golden Dawn’s Elias Kasidiaris with 15.81%.
In Piraeus, however, the exit polls are confirmed on the lead of Yannis Moralis against Vassilis Michaloliakos, with 33.4% versus 31%, respectively.
Athens Regional Battle: Dourou at 23.3% – Sgouros at 21%
After the exit polls, the picture of the actual results shows differences with initial estimates: In Attica, Mrs. Rena Dourou is leading by only a meager 2.2%, over Yannis Sgouros’ 21%. The correlations are expected to fluctuate as the counting of votes has just begun.
Over 40% absence of voters in Piraeus and Attica Regionals.
While the counting of votes is only completed in just 22 of the 356 polling stations of Piraeus, the turnout of the election is only 54.8%. The turnout for Attica Regional Governor elections is slightly increased, at 57.7% while the count relates to 445 out of 6490 stations.
