Greece's budget primary surplus at 3,003 million euros in Jan-Oct

During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €38,391 million, compared to €37,993 million in the corresponding period of last year.

According to a monthly report that was released by the Bank of Greece on Monday, the Greek budget recorded a cash primary surplus of 3,003 million euros in the January-October period.

More specifically, the report said that in the January-October period the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of 2,250 million euros compared to a deficit of 9,074 million euros in the same period in 2013.

During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to €38,391 million, compared to €37,993 million in the corresponding period of last year. It includes revenue of €1,310 million from repayment of preference shares, while revenue of €62 million regarding Securities Market Programme (SMP) income transfers from Eurosystem central banks is excluded.

Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about €336 million for the repayment of arrears, as well as €451 million for Greece’s contribution to the European Stability Mechanism, amounted to €40,068 million, from €47,904 million in January-October 2013.
