Weather: Temperature rise & local showers next week – EMY’s forecast until Friday

Storm “Alexandros” has subsided and temperatures are expected to rise next week. The forecast of the National Meteorological Service (NMS) through Friday, November 22.

The National Weather Service of Greece (NEMS) has announced the forecast for the 22nd of November until 22 November.

The weather will be almost clear in most parts of the country on Monday, November 18, with occasional clouds and only in Crete and the Dodecanese will there be local rain.

Visibility in the Ionian, the mainland and the northern Aegean in the morning and evening hours will be locally limited and in the mainland fog may form in places.

Winds will be variable 2 to 4 and in the south will blow west northwest 4 to 5 Beaufort, occasionally in Crete and the Dodecanese locally 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise. It will range in the central and northern continents from 02 to 16 to 17 degrees, while in the morning hours in the northwest there will be frost. In the remaining areas from 09 to 19 to 20 and locally in the south up to 21 degrees Celsius.

Tuesday, November 19

Initially in the northern Ionian Sea and Epirus and from the afternoon hours in the rest of the west clouds with local rain are forecast, while in the evening hours isolated thunderstorms will occur in the northern Ionian Sea. In the rest of the country the weather will be almost clear, with a few local clouds. Visibility will be locally limited in the morning hours.

Winds will initially be variable 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually in the Ionian Sea and from the afternoon hours in the remaining areas will blow from southerly directions 3 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly. In the north it will reach 14 to 17 degrees Celsius and in the rest of the regions 18 to 21 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday, November 20

In the west and north and gradually in the eastern Aegean, clouds are predicted, with local rain in the west and from noon in Thrace and the eastern Aegean. Isolated thunderstorms will occur in the northern Ionian Sea. In the rest of the country a few local clouds, partly cloudy, partly cloudy in the Cyclades and Crete where light local showers will occur from midday. Visibility will be locally limited in the morning hours in the east.

Dust is favoured in the south. Winds will blow in the west west westerly southwesterly 4 to 5 and gradually in the Ionian Sea locally 6 Beaufort. In the east south southwestern 4 to 6 and gradually in the Aegean up to 7 Beaufort. The temperature will rise slightly.

Thursday, November 21

Cloudy with local rain. Sporadic thunderstorms will occur in the western and eastern Aegean. The phenomena will gradually stop from the west at noon.

The winds will blow initially west southwest 5 to 6 and in the sea locally 7 Beaufort. Gradually in the west and from the afternoon hours in the remaining areas they will turn to northwest and weaken. The temperature will drop slightly in the north.

Friday, November 22

In the west, cloudy with localized showers that will gradually intensify and thunderstorms will occur. In the rest of the regions a few clouds that will gradually increase and local showers will occur, mainly in the north and the eastern Aegean.
Winds will blow south-southwest 5 to 6 and locally 7 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly.
