The University of Patras in the top 200 in Europe based on international sustainability ratings

Environment, society, governance, the indicators on which the University of Patras excels

The University of Patras, having incorporated in its strategy the promotion of sustainable development, continues to perform well on indicators that refer to the environment, society, and governance (ESG) dimensions.

The recent publication of the QS World University Rankings: sustainability, in which the Institution has been participating since its inception and for the 3rd consecutive year, finds the University of Patras in 2nd place among 10 Greek Universities, showing particularly good scores in the indicators of environmental research, health and wellness, and governance.

It is worth noting that globally, the University of Patras is in the top right quadrant in all mapping visualizations of the three dimensions of the ESG indicators. Also, the University of Patras ranked 394th out of 1,751 institutions worldwide (belonging to 22.5%) and 177th out of 563 European institutions.

The Rector Christos I. Bouras congratulates all members of the academic community of the University of Patras, who are involved in the efforts to highlight and reflect both the scientific work and the broader contribution of the institution to society, the environment, and the promotion of sustainable development. Expressing our thanks to the International Rankings Committee, we firmly believe that together we will continue to support even more, initiatives and actions that contribute to the effective extroversion and the consolidation of the international recognition of the University of Patras.
