Eurovision 2025: Klavdia wins the Greek national final with “Asteromata”

The 22-year-old singer will represent Greece at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest – Her song tells the story of the Pontic Greeks' displacement

The Greek national final for Eurovision has concluded, with Klavdia emerging as the big winner. She is now set to represent Greece at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, performing her song Asteromáta. The track, composed by the creative team Arcade, delves into the forced displacement of the Pontic Greeks and incorporates strong Greek musical elements.

The final took place at the Christmas Theater and was broadcast live on ERT1, the Second Program, as well as internationally on ERT WORLD, ERTFLIX International, and The Voice of Greece. Additionally, the event was accessible in Greek Sign Language via live streaming on ERT1.

The evening was hosted by two renowned Greek artists, Sakis Rouvas and Helena Paparizou, while the show’s direction was overseen by Fokas Evangelinos. The two singers opened the night accompanied by the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra and members of the ERT Choir, performing three iconic Eurovision hits:

  • “Waterloo” – ABBA
  • “Hold Me Now” – Johnny Logan
  • “Krasi, Thalassa, Kai T’ Agori Mou” – The song with which Marinella represented Greece in its Eurovision debut 51 years ago.

The show also featured a retrospective of all the songs that have represented Greece in Eurovision over the years.

In addition, Marina Satti took the stage with ZARI, the song that represented Greece in last year’s Eurovision, securing 11th place in the final rankings.

Voting System in the Greek Final

The winner was determined through a combination of:

  • 50% public voting
  • 25% Greek jury votes
  • 25% international jury votes

Klavdia and Asteromáta secured victory through the combined votes of the public (50%) and the two expert juries, one Greek (25%) and one international (25%).
