Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is traveling to Paris, where he will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace on Monday.
The Prime Minister is traveling to the French capital to participate in the “Action Summit on Artificial Intelligence”.
As is known, on February 10 and 11, 2025, Paris will become the world capital of artificial intelligence (AI) on the occasion of the Action Summit on Artificial Intelligence. This Summit will be attended by heads of state and government, international organizations and companies of all sizes, representatives of academia, researchers, non-governmental organizations, artists and other members of civil society from around the world.
The summit, which comes amid a shifting balance in the AI competition between the US and China, following the launch of two AI models by Chinese startup DeepSeek that it claims are equal to or better than its US counterparts, aims to “collectively create scientific foundations, solutions and standards for a more sustainable AI that works for collective progress and the public interest.”
The event, co-chaired by India, builds on the progress made at the Bletchley Park summit in November 2023 and the Seoul summit in May 2024, and will draw on the expertise of a committee comprising around 30 countries and international organisations.
The Summit, together with the Artificial Intelligence Action Week, will be an important opportunity to showcase the ecosystems that promote the development and application of Artificial Intelligence and to promote specific initiatives from a wide range of actors contributing to this collective effort.
